This is the new DSiLL console announced by Nintendo

While we are still trying to decide if we should upgrade the DS Lite to DSi, Nintendo announced the next generation of DSi (DSiLL). What is it about the new console? Is it worth to spend the money on the new DSiLL? Here is the official site from Nintendo: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/dsiLL/

Here is the comparison between DSiLL, DSi and DS Lite from their site. You can see the screen is at 4.2″ instead of 3.2″ in DSi. The physical size is a lot bigger than DSi and DS Lite. WHile PSP going downsizing, Nintendo DS going the opposite way. I took the part that matter more from the table. The original spec. in Japanese is available from the official site.

Here are the colors available for Japanese version. We don’t know what colors are available for European and North American version yes.

Wine Red

Dark Brown

Natural White

The DSiLL is scheduled to be released in Japan on Nov 21 2009 with the retail price of around $220. I was told that European version will be out 1st quarter of 2010. There are no words about the North American version yet.

So, what are the difference?

1. Two touchpens included. One is fat and the other one is thin.

2. Bigger screen – 4.2 inch instead of 3.2 in DSi. Good news for those who use it for internet browsing.

We will update the information when we learn more.
